About Women’s Legal Service WA
Women’s Legal Service WA is a specialist community legal centre that provides support to Western Australia women living with financial disadvantage and other vulnerabilities.
Regular Outreach Clinic
Women seeking supports often need continuum of services – health, legal and social – and women often choose to access services in women’s-only spaces.
The co-location of WLSWA lawyers, with other valued gender-specific community services, removes barriers for women accessing ‘face-to-face’ confidential legal assistance.
Legal Assistance Available From WLSWA
Lawyers will provide legal assistance to clients in the region in the areas of,
- Family law – parenting and divorce matters
- Child protection
- Criminal injuries compensation
Initial appointments will be 45-minutes long.
Legal assistance may be one-off or ongoing, depending on client need and circumstances.
Eligibility
Legal assistance is available to all persons who identify as women, as well as non-binary and gender diverse person who have been adversely impacted by patriarchal structures and practices.
Clients must be living with financial hardship and / or other disadvantages.
Community Legal WLSWA Educations Assistance
WLSWA can also provide community legal education to local organisations on an as-needs basis.
At present, the clinic runs bi-monthly on a Monday – bookings are essential
